26 05 25

Nicolas Peyret, University Professor, succeeds Philippe Girard as Director of the Institut supérieur de mécanique de Paris, ISAE-Supméca. In office since Friday May 2, 2025, this appointment was made official by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research with the publication of the decree of 3-4-2025 (NOR : MENS2510628A) in the official bulletin of April 24, 2025.

A long-standing commitment to ISAE-Supméca

Since joining the institution in 2012, Nicolas Peyret has played a pivotal role in transforming engineering education at ISAE-Supméca. He has notably contributed to the implementation of project-based learning, problem-based teaching, and innovative methods such as inverted pedagogy.

Since 2023, he has held the position of Deputy Director in charge of training and student life, where he has led a number of structuring projects, including the overhaul of the educational model, the reform of the entrance exam for core admissions, and the launch of a plan to prevent sexist and sexual violence (SGBV).

A trained teacher-researcher, he is a university professor conducting  research in structural dynamics, digital twins, and the hybridization of neural networks with physical models. Since 2020, he has chaired the TSI stream of the CCINP entrance exam, overseeing both the written and oral components.

From teacher to teacher-researcher

His career is also that of a passionate pedagogue. Starting out as an associate professor in high school, he went on to teach at several universities and engineering schools in the Paris region, before defending his thesis at ISAE-Supméca and being appointed lecturer, then professor. He has always placed great emphasis on student support, collective commitment and building a caring and inclusive work environment.

In his new role, Nicolas Peyret aims to continue the momentum he has set in motion, while reinforcing the school’s structure, supporting research projects and developing the continuing education offering. He is committed to a humanist vision of higher education and research, based on scientific excellence, cooperation and respect for republican values.
